Unwanted Hair Growth & Permanent Hair Removal in London

Treat unwanted hair safely and effectively with laser hair removal and electrolysis

Whatever your goal, long-term reduction of unwanted hair is absolutely achievable

Unwanted hair can appear for many reasons – hormones, genetics, PCOS, and even certain medication can make hair grow where you’d least expect it. While some people come to us with concerns about facial hair or thicker growth on the body, many others choose treatment because they prefer to stay hair-free on areas like the underarms, legs, arms, bikini line or chest without constant shaving or waxing.

At ACE Skin Health Clinic, we offer both laser hair removal and electrolysis, allowing us to treat a wide range of hair colours, skin tones and areas for all genders, including transgender clients seeking gender-affirming hair removal.

About unwanted hair

Understanding Unwanted Hair Growth

Hair growth is shaped by hormonal activity, follicle structure and your natural hair cycle. For some, conditions such as PCOS lead to more noticeable facial hair. For others, the issue is ongoing maintenance, shaving every day, dealing with ingrown hairs, irritation or fast regrowth.

Laser targets the pigment inside the hair follicle and disables it during active growth phases. This means that over repeated sessions, the follicle becomes less able to produce new hair, making it a far better long-term option than shaving or waxing, which only remove the hair temporarily and can contribute to ingrown hairs or irritation.

Electrolysis, on the other hand, works by treating each follicle individually with a tiny electrical current. This allows permanent removal of grey, white, blonde, red or very fine hairs that laser cannot treat.

How We Treat Unwanted Hair Growth

Treatment plans are tailored to hair colour, thickness, skin tone and the area being treated. Most clients benefit from a combination of technologies to achieve the smoothest, longest-lasting results.

Results

Laser hair removal offers gradual but long-lasting reduction, with many clients noticing fewer and finer hairs within the first few treatments. Electrolysis provides permanent removal of individual hairs. When combined, these methods offer comprehensive, long-term smoothness without the irritation or constant upkeep of shaving or waxing.

Still have questions?

Get in touch with our team and we will answer all of your questions before you book a session.

What causes sensitive skin?

A weakened barrier, inflammation, genetics, environmental factors, certain skincare products or underlying conditions like eczema or dermatitis.

Is sensitive skin the same as an allergy?

No. Allergies involve an immune response, while sensitivity is usually linked to barrier weakness or irritation. We can help identify the difference.

Can sensitive skin be cured?

Sensitivity can be significantly improved with the right treatments and skincare routine. Many clients see long-term changes once their barrier is restored.

Which ingredients should sensitive skin avoid?

Harsh exfoliants, strong fragrances and drying alcohols. We’ll guide you on how to build a soothing routine.

Are treatments safe for highly reactive skin?

Yes. We use gentle, non-irritating approaches and adapt everything to your tolerance level.
